Executive Board

Maggie Gordon, Executive Chair
Hey everyone!  Maggie here. I’m the Executive Chair for HSA again this year. I’m a Newspaper and Women’s Studies major with a minor in Psychology.  But more than that, I am one half of the Perky/Peppy Combo that has graced HSA with our presence since Fall 2004.  I like inside jokes, hitting walls with Rachel Fus, and living vicariously through people much cooler than myself.  When I’m not HSAing it, I work at the Student Voice, am a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, and an RA in Brockway Hall.  And oh yea, Mandy Moore is my hero!!
Colin Fanning, Administrative Chair
So. I'm Colin (hi there). I'm an Interior Design major with a dual minor in Writing and English and Textual Studies, and I'm taking harp lessons on the side.  Home for me is Pueblo, Colorado, and before you ask, no, I don't ski. Or snowboard.  However, I manage to fill that particular void in my life by doing a bunch of other things, like TA-ing for the Interior Design computer drafting class, Peer Advising for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and rocking out in general.

Katie Laurentiev , Co-Finance Chair
Hey everyone! My name is Katie, and I'm one of the two financial chairs for fabulous HSA. I'm also a Junior dual majoring in Magazine Journalism and English Textual Studies here at SU, who hails from Hyde Park, NY - the most gorgeous place on the Hudson River. Besides writing here and there for the Student Voice and Coffee House Journals, I'm also a fan of reading incessantly, writing, playing a good tune on the piano, working on my thesis (or so they tell me) and being proud of what a huge film/theatre/art geek I can
be. And of course raising money for amazing HSA!

Rebecka Schaber, Co-Finance Chair
I'm Rebecka, HSA's financial co-chair. I originally hail from Buffalo, NY and spend most of my breaks at home with my family. I'm a junior English Education major and Spanish minor and recently studied abroad in Madrid. I've been involved with various student organizations and look forward to making HSA bigger and better!
Rachel Fus, Social Chair
Fus is like sooooo laid back. Really. you don't beleive her? okay- maybe not in camparison to some people (like her wife Steph Rivetz or her perky/peppy partner in crime Maggie Gordon) but, like whoa!, such a change from freshman year. A semester in London will do that to a girl. She loves photo (alot) and don't get her started on psych, cause she <3s Freud, but hit her up if your playlists include Cindy Lauper, DJ Unk, and Lily Allen, you want to get Meredith Grey some Zoloft, or you too enjoy randomly concocting cake icing from scratch. Yes, Rachel is totally excited to once again be social chair of HSA. Peace love ciao homies.
Aaron Knight, Web Chair
Howdy, folks. I'm Aaron, and I'm a dual major in Computer Science and History here at Syracuse. I'm also a 'Cuse native. In my spare time, outside of HSA, I work for SU's Orientation office, am Public Relations Chair for Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, a LCSmith college ambassador, and a Student Peer Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. (a.k.a. I do too much stuff)
Megan Kelley, Service Chair
Hi my name is Megan Kelley and I am a sophomore here at SU in the College of Arts and Sciences as a physics and mathematics major. I am the service chair for HSA and enjoy every minute of it. My interests are in anything and everything which is why I still don't know what I want to do, but I'm sure it'll come to me soon enough. I love sports and dance and enjoy music, reading, and the outdoors. This is now my third semester in HSA and 2nd as service chair.
Sarah Kuhn, Academic Chair
Sarah Kuhn is the kind of person who will read anything with a dragon on the cover and who loves Space Operas and Sci-Fi novels.  She is also a Senior in Linguistics, minoring in Management.  Before anyone asks, she really only knows one language - English - but likes to pretend she can speak French and Japanese.  She is currently applying to graduate schools for Arts Administration, but until then, she is acting as HSA's Academic Chair, running Knitting Circle, and working on a Capstone Project.

The Executive Board of the Honors Student Association is an elected body. Elections are held in the final weeks of every Spring semester for the next year.
