The Honors Student Association was created in the spring of 2003. While we have many specific goals for the organization, our ultimate vision is to create “a vibrant community of learners dedicated to fostering academic, personal, and social growth while serving each other, the Syracuse University Community, and the greater Syracuse area.”
Of course, this goal is broad enough to mean that the opportunities are endless as to what we can do. Some of the events and activities we’ve planned so far have included annual opening weekend cookouts, roundtable discussions with Chancellor Nancy Cantor and Dr. Chamberlain of the Sensory Research program, a book-of-the-month club, a trip to Seneca Falls, and many more. This is not to say that we’re all booked up, though; we’re always willing to take on new members, and always looking for new ideas. With that in mind, we encourage you to come out to the next meeting. Meetings are held weekly on Fridays at 3 p.m. in the Honors Suite (306 Bowne Hall).
